Field Scenario Examples

1. Disaster Recovery: Primary hard drive got erased by a virus. (Primary hard drive was previously backed up using DI7 on EMD)

Solution:  Switch the primary drive with the one that is in the EMD unit.  Then put the original primary hard drive in the EMD enclosure.  Boot up the machine, then run DI7 to copy the image back on to the EMD with the primary drive.

2. Disaster Recovery: Primary hard drive fails.

Solution:  Remove the drive from the EMD enclosure and put it in the primary bay of the notebook.

3. Hard Drive Upgrade: End user needs to upgrade his/her primary hard drive to a larger capacity.
Ex. 40GB to 60GB

Solution: Remove the hard drive from the EMD enclosure and put the 60GB drive in.  Then run Drive Image 7 to copy the image from the primary drive onto the EMD drive.
